April 10th will be one year. I was cleaning the garage today and decided to throw out Max's tripod and tricycle costumes along with his many bandanas. I feel a little guilty about it, but I'm not using them anymore. Then I come here and his banner is at at the top of the page. Missing my boy.

Thank you for coming back today and letting us help you pay tribute to that Amazing Man Max!!!!

Crossing over at 14 after being tripawd for eight years! WOW!

When you can, I hope you'll lost some more pics of him in his costumes. The one of him in earlier posts dressed up as a camers..SPLENDID JOB!! And he seemed just as proud as could be to ,be a "camera"!

His banner shows up sooooo often and it ALWAYS makes me smile!

These "first" are so hard. April/March brought on a lot of grief for the loss of so many family members. We understand. You have y o ur memories forever stored throughout your heart and soul. You don't need any "physical" reminders.

I think the fact that you saw his banner today was his way of saying how nice the garage looks all cleaned out! Good job !!

Max will always be inspiration to us! Being a tripawd never held him back at all!

Thanks for showing us how it's done Max!!!

Sending extra hugs!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Hugs.... April 8 is one year for us and I'm sorry I wasn't there when Max passed .... it was a horribly sad month... lots of losses and some that I am just hearing about.

We will all get through this... hugs and love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Awww Meg, I know what you're going through. A year is a long time and yet it's not, it's a bittersweet milestone. I remember Max in his costumes, you always did such a great job!

The thing is, it's not about the costume itself but about the time you spent together when you were having fun with them. Those memories you can never toss out because they are in your heart for all time, just like Max. Dogs dont' care about material things, just the good times. You and Max had lots of those that will always live on.

April 16th is a year for us. A few days ago, I actually stood with an empty pill bottle in my hand for a while debating whether or not to throw it out. It was Ty's. It is not like that pill bottle was going to change anything. I had combined 2 bottles and certainly did not need it for anything. We didn't have any costumes as Ty was only a Tripawd for a very short while. I love your creative ideas for dressing Max up. I would like to see some pictures sometime. I have been a bit more emotional about everything Ty and I am blaming it on the one year thing. Last April was a very yucky month. I like what Jerry said about the costumes...Dogs don't care about material things. Those are strictly for us. That and memories, memories..no one can take them from us. Extra hugs, Lori, TY & the gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
