A tribute to my beautiful warrior princess, Lily.
She lived her 13 years of life to the fullest and survived 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days-kicking cancer's butt every step of the way. She is my hero, my furbaby, my love, and my warrior princess...I miss her and love her so very much.
To my tripawd family-thank you for always being there for Lily and me. I don't know what I would have done without you!

And Joan, thank you for your very thoughtful, generous gift to Tripawds Foundation in honor of Lily. She was truly a one-of-a-kind warrior princess whose legendary story will live on forever. What an amazing life she lived.
Our heart goes out to you, lean on us and know that you are always part of this family.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oh, beautiful Lily!
I love all the pictures! Her peeking out from behind the flowers is adorable! Over 4 years is so amazing! Such a true Cancer Warrior!

Lily is such a Beacon of Hope for everyone starting this journey, truly a Miracle Dog! If there was ever a time to use the word CURED, Lily's victory of beati g this stupod liece of crap disease for FOUR YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND FIFTEEN DAYS is the perfect time to say, yes, Lily was cured!! 🙂 A true Warrior Princess Victorious Survivor!!
Thank you for giving hope to everyone facing this journey Lily!! You traveled this road with grace, with joy and with such a gentle spirit every step of the way.
You not only brought us hope, and lots of "smileys", you brought us your Mom!. She has been such a positive support for us all, even while fighting some huge health challenges herself. But just like yoi, she is a courageous Warrior who has overcome every challenge put before her 🙂
You two are such an incredible team...ALWAYS!! You two have a Soul deep connection that will never be broken! Although hard to believe eight now, you will cry less and the intensity of the last few days will be replaced with the joyful intensity of the thousands a d thousands of delightfully happy days you two shared for THIRTEEN YEARS!!!
Yes, Lily was ready to head to the Bridge and she let you know! I can assure you that, along with all the other Angels, there's a special group called "April's Angels" who make sure those who come during that months....shhh...secrete....they get extra scoops of ice cream smothered in sprinkles and CHOCOLATE topped off with deer poop!
Joan the pictures you shared with us could not be any more perfect! Every single one shows the pure gentleness, the pure contentment and peace, the essence of who she is!! She was loved every single second of every single day she was here in her earth clothes. She took that love with her and left a heartfull for you. She's with you. Put your hand over your heart...you'll feel her heart beating with yours.

My dear Tripawd Family,
You touch my heart, bring a smile to my face, and tears to my eyes. Your support means so much; I know many of you have traveled this path, and it's heartbreaking. I so appreciate Karen posting these photos for me and for all her words of encouragement. Rene, thank you for making this a home for all of us. I feel like it's a place where my Lily will live in our hearts. You've touched and helped so many when they're dealing with this horrible disease. Sally, what can I say; you've made so many of us laugh with your antics (and Hannah's). You've gone through this heartbreak, and you continue to reach out to everyone in their time of need. Thanks so much for your helpful words, your wisdom, and your understanding. You made my day yesterday-so wonderful to spend time sharing with you.Alison-I remember your heartbreak when you lost Shelby. You shared your pain with us, and that has helped others. Thanks for your kind words. Thanks, Donna, that's one of my favorite pictures of my Lily Thanks, Pam, she was a beautiful girl.
Love to all of you,
Joan and my angel, Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Awww. Back at ya Joan, we are holding Lily's sweet memory close in our hearts and thinking of you always. xoxo

Thank you Joan for sharing these beautiful pictures of Lily and Karen for posting them. Such a gorgeous and dainty princess she was! Lily gave so many of us so much hope when starting this journey. She will continue to do so for that is the legacy she left us all. She beat cancer and did so in a huge way as the pictures document. Both of you are Warriors Extrodinaire.
