Just dropped Jaime off at the vet this morning around 8 AM. It's 11:30 right now and I'm expecting to hear from them around noon. I dropped him off with his favorite stuffy and he gave me a big kiss right before I left. He loves the vets there and they are optimistic that everything will go smoothly. He's all set to start day boarding tomorrow. I'm a big ball of nerves right now, but everything will be so much better when this all done with and Jaime and I are all set to get on with our lives.
Alrighty....her one step closer to a full recovery and enjoying a life of loving and spoiling anf thousands more stuffies!!!
Hang in there...I know this is nereve wracking! Remember, Peace is watching over you both...so all is well!
Hugs!

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Jaime's home and resting. He's pretty miserable, but he's walking already! It took us about 5 minutes to get through the 10 foot walkway but with some treat motivation he made it. There's some whimpering and crying but mostly he's just exhausted and stoned. It gives me comfort that he'll be at the vets for daycare this week so trained eyes will be watching him. More updates later!
Holy moly that was fast! Keep in mind that tonight might be ruff, the first night at home, especially if it's the same day of surgery, can be tough. Keep on top of the pain meds schedule, be good to yourself and know that he will be all good again in no time at all. Let us know if you need anything.

Yeah he's in a lot of pain right now. At first it was whimpering and now it's straight out crying. My parents stopped by for a bit and the excitement got him up and moving though, he was going at full speed almost! Now I think the morphine has worn off and the half pill of tramadol I gave him just isn't doing it for him :/ I know tonight is supposed to be hard though, I just hope he can sleep through some of it.
So glad he is home and it is over. Yeah, they are pretty loopy when they come home. If the Tramadol does not seem to cut it, you could ask about adding Gabapentin. Hang in there, pretty soon you won't be able to keep him still. Hugs, Lori, Ty and gang

Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
YAAAAAAAA! SURGERY IS OVER AND HE IS HOME!!!
And WOW...this homecoming really was fast! Most dogs spend one nopight at the vet's ATTENDED, so...since YOU are the "attender"...'m afraid you are in for a rough few nights! This is the part most of us don't see...at least until the second day anyway!
Take lots of deep breaths.........he needs to stay pretty well zonked out right now. Hopefully you can catch a few zzzz's!!!
If you think the pain dose he's on isn't doing the job, ask the vet about upping it. The main thing is to keep them in his system on a steady basis so the pain doesnw get a head start.
Sending you lots of hugs!!

Yeah, last night ended up being pretty rough. There was one point where I took him outside and he was in so much pain that he wouldn't even attempt the few steps it took to get back inside. When I tried to even pick him up he would scream and thrash and even tried to nip me - though with no force, of course! So we just had to wait outside until he was ready. Last night he was very distressed and woke up more than a dozen times crying and trying to get comfortable, but he would usually settle down as soon as I started petting him. He had to be plastered against me, haha. I think he is definitely having phantom pains. He will yelp loudly and look behind him, so much so that he turns in circles! If he's on the floor he'll do this until he's backed himself into a corner. When he's in a lot of pain the only way he can get comfortable seems to be standing in this awkward crouched way where is head is on the ground. I'm just letting him do whatever he needs to do to feel comfortable. This morning he seems much improved. We got outside and inside with no problem and he inhaled his breakfast. Much less whimpering, too! We'll see how he does at doggy daycare.
Awww poor baby, that had to have been a very ruff night. He's so lucky though that he's getting boarded in the vet clinic, he will be in great hands. Be sure to mention his pain symptoms, they can help you try to determine which meds will & won't make him feel better. Keep us posted.

This is just sooooo hard to watch. My beloved Happy Hannah cried and whimpered and whined and yelped for nineteen hours straight with almost NO sleep at all! She constantly paced and was just so restless...could not get comfortable. She would sit for maybe a minute and then up and down non stop. And that was AFTER she'd already spent one night in thenhospital! The crying started to subside some after that though.
Yeah, just let him do whatever he wants right now and just continue to comfort him. Knowing you are there with him helps more than anything!
And remember, we are here for you both!! Peace will be watching over you also!
