Hello,
We got a lovely poodle/king charles spainel puppy (free to a good home) and he is lovely as anything! His back paw was missing from birth but he doesn't let it fade him.
He got a vet check up tomorrow and depending on the vet's views, he might have to have more of the leg removed but for now, we are enjoying him!
Here he is;
and this is his sisters and brother (from left to right, Frankie, Toby, Eddy and Billy)
I look forward to having him grow up with us and I know with your help, he would be just fine.

Oh what a lucky pup! He is darling! Which leg is deformed? I can't tell. You are really sweet for taking this boy into your pack.
We hope the vet visit goes well, let us know what the doc says.
I hope you don't mind I moved your post here, it's just that we get a lot of pups who were born with malformed limbs, and this is a great forum topic to see how they've all done.

Of course I don't mind the move - I wasn't sure where to put it anyway!
It is his back left paw, he also have some toes missing on his back right paw. But he can sure move fast! Especially when it is food time!
I will be sure to let you guys know what the vet reckon.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. The vet thinks that it is very likely that he would need more of the leg removed when he is older as he is putting lot of weight onto his stump. He doesn't alway use it but sometimes he does - especially when he is tired.
He also got 2 toes missing from his other paw - meaning he got just the two which the vet was bit worried about but it is a case of wait and see!
However, he is a lovely little thing and just slotted into our life as if he have been here all his life!

Ohhh yeah, if he's putting weight on it it could pose a problem, we've seen that happen. How long did your vet think you should give it before deciding whether or not to amputate?

I didn't ask that - will ask in two weeks time when he is back for his second jab.
Theo is funny, he runs on three legs but walk using all four. He also as we got tiled floor in the kitchen, slide when he is eating so he had taken his bowl to the side of the room so he can rest on the wall while eating.
