Thank you ALL for your posts, thoughts, prayers and advise. This website, and all who are a part of it, are true blessings. Thanks again so much. You have all helped me more than you know. I wish you and your 3 legged angels a Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year. God Bless, Kristen
We are very sorry to hear that Brandy lost her battle. But, you got to share 20 additional months with her, and got to be there to comfort her at the end.
And, while Zack's situation was a little different (he couldn't breathe & get enough oxygen at all), I know what you mean about 'tired eyes.' Our boy was still acting like normal, never lost his appetite, and was as waggy with his tail as when he was a pup, but there were times over the last few months where he would just look at us and you could feel all of his 14 years. And, looking into his eyes as he took his final breaths, his eyes never left mine & were at total peace - he was ready. I am sure it was the same for Brandy - 14 or 15 years is a long time for a dog (although it never feels long enough to us!)
Hope you and your family have a good holiday season.
Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.

I just read your update, hoping for a good one, and I am so so sorry for your loss. You were so good to Brandy all these years, and what a beautiful life you had together. She was the perfect companion for so long. I'm just so sorry that you had to say goodbye, we know how hard that is.
May her spirit guide you through the years, and the lessons she taught always stay close to your heart. Our deepest condolences go out to you and your family.

I, too, am sorry for your loss. Your words were filled with love and compasion. You strength, so evident. I admire you for having the courage to know Brandy was too tired to go on.
May the happy memories soon replace the sadness you feel today.

My deepest condolences in your loss with Brandy. How terrible. I'm sorry I didn't get to know her but I understand your pain during the dark days of sadness.
My wish is that soon you will be able to recollect all of the happy memories shared and your painful heart will disappear.
May you have a peaceful this holiday knowing how much she loved you and that she was happy until the end.

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
