I haven't cried at all today until now. Just got the word that Grayson's surgery is over and it went as well as expected. The vet will be calling me soon so i will know more soon. As of about a half hour ago Grayson and I are official members of this awesome club. The water works have just sprung. I will update when i know more.

We had diagnosis on a Monday evening 5PM, second opinion on Tuesday evening 5PM, and surgery Wednesday 9AM. I started crying Monday evening and didn't stop until I knew she was out of surgery and doing well. We do all cry, and there will be other tears along the way, but we all survive them and become stronger for dealing with them.
So happy to hear Grayson is doing well. Get some rest before he comes home, and be ready for the recovery period.

Good news! Listen to hugapitbull and try to get extra sleep tonight. Grayson will likely do just fine, but us paranoid pawrents tend to wake up at every little sound so sleep can be fleeting for the next week or so. Good luck with recovery!

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Zambor's surgery was on Monday, I visited him in the hospital on Tuesday, he came home yesterday. I also cried the day I got the diagnose and the days following the diagnose. I cried again the day I transmitted him to the hospital.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel 
Today Zambor is his 1st day at home. He rests a lot, but when he hears a noise at the front door or if our 3 other dogs start barking, he is up on his feet in no time. You will see it is really amazing. He doesn' seem to have pain (because he is under strong painkillers), he is eating Ok. I mix his pills in his food, he is a large breed, so he has to eat several times a little bit to avoid a twisted stomack .
You must hang on and be possitive and brave, for yourself and for your friend Grayson.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
