Tomorrow is one year, One year since the amputation, one year! I cant get over that 365 days have gone by since we amputated. Quixote has succeeded in his quest to give me grey hairs: from skin cancer to minor falls, oh and silvers of metal its given me grey hairs.
In this past year I have learned that Quixote is really not made of glass, but he loves to make me think he may be. His crankiness was from the pain, and he is now social. He knows his is missing a leg, and uses that against me. And did you know papilloma virus can mutate into skin cancer. THC is magic and finally even when Quixote does things to make me worry at the end of the day he is loved
HAPPY POST !!!!! YAY!!! Congrats on ONE year!!! That is an amazing milestone!
And LOL about being made of glass... that was always so hard ... to let Shelby be a dog and do it herself. Good for you all!
Here's to many, many, many more years!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Yipeeeee! Hoppy Ampuversary to you both, what a year it's been. Quixote is sure showing the world that three legs won't slow him down. YAY!
