Mike here...
First, thank you all for the kind words and advice. This is our first Tripawd so we are paying attention. He however isn't our first (and I hesitate to use the term) "special needs" dog.
Rocky is fitting right into our zoo perfectly. We lost our completely blind Lab, Lucky, last year and a Tripawd dog isn't a big adjustment for us. He doesn't seem to really care either. Gotta love his spirit!
Many years ago I eliminated the steps to the front and back porches and built ramps so Lucky wouldn't fall so those are already in place and working well for Rocky.
Housebreaking shouldn't be an issue and we have to work on getting him to use his "inside voice". LOL
(Mods- I'll create my own account if posting under Vikki's is a no-no. Just wanted to say a few things before I went to work this am.)
Thanks again
Mike

You guys are my heroes! So glad that a horrible story has ended happy. Tri looks so sweet and agreed, mike looks equally in love. And cudos to you for restraint....I would have also had difficulty not taking out the horrible neighbor....grr.....and to have to continue seeing him would make me see red. Thanks goodness Tri is so cute and clearly found the right home! He's going to to amazing!
I cannot believe the nerve of that man!! How disgusting. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me though. That guy should be hit by a car and left to fend on his own! So happy you are helping this poor little guy and giving him a REAL home! Post some pictures when you can, can't wait to see this guy!! 🙂 Hope he's doing good!

You go ahead and use whatever account you want Mike. Some members have multiple accounts for their monkeydogs, but we want you to enjoy these forums whichever way is easiest for you. Thanks for asking!

Hi, I read your story when you first joined, but wasn't quite sure what to say. Rocky is precious, and you guys are angels. I'm impressed with how you have handled the whole situation, and so happy you turned that trash in. I hope he gets more than a slap on the wrist.
So I'm curious to know what your zoo consists of. My family has 3 dogs and 3 cats. I don't meet too many people who top that. 🙂
Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I hope Rocky continues one smooth recovery.
Leslie
Well congrats on a great name! (my 4-legger is Rocket!)
Cue "Rocky" music. Dadadadaddaada...dadadaaaada
So glad to hear the recovery is going well Mike and Vikki! And YES you can create many accounts here or use others too! We aint picky! For some strange reason, the 4-legged monkeybutt/monkeydogs seem to think they have to have their own account. I don't know how that happened but it did! And the lazy moderators just let them!
We are so happy you guys joined us!! Looking forward to many, many happy memories being made with Rocky!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Hello all.. This is Vikki. Thank all of you for your really kind words and encouragement with Rocky. Rocky got his name from his "Rocky start before he made to us"
Rocky had a rough night last night. He over did it yesterday and was a little sore last night. He is better now though. He seems to forget at times that the leg is not there. He will go to do something and expect his leg to be there to support him. Then he topples over.
Lesliac, our little zoo consists of:
Gretchen D. Labrador- She is a rescue
Loki M. Monster- Another rescue (Labrador)
Henry H. Hound- Also a rescue
Koda P. Itbull- A rescue
The above dogs are inside with us and Rocky......
3 horses. One was a rescue. The other two were born here on the property. We lost two other rescue horses last year from old age and the heat.
We have numerous barn cats. Most of them are rescued from bad situations. Our barn cats have it pretty darn good. Great food, all of the hunting and playing they could want.
I cant for get my two inside cats.
Bill T. Kitty- Rescued
P-Nut Kitty- Rescued
The stories for the rest of my zoo are for another post. They can take up some room. We will post some pictures of them so you can see them though.

Kudos to you both for rescuing Tripawd! He is adorable! I'm posting backwards because I posted to your other thread (post-amp) first. Tripawd is a special pup who is a fighter. He obviously picked you and your boyfriend for a reason...you saved his life. Thank you!!!
