Rocky became a Tripaw after a previous owner dumped him off after he was hit by a car...Rocky's Daily Blog
Oh, I want to gobble him up– he is so cute– and so big– look at those long legs. He looks so happy to be going home with his new mom and dad– I hope it goes well tonight and your other pups adjust rapidly– there was a tripawds talk radio segment the other week about introducing new dogs; you may want to check it out– although I expect you're pros!
Welcome home Tripawd; we look forward to hearing about your new life and adventures!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
Awwww, now that is one hoppy dawg! He really knows a great thing has just happened to him. You are PAWESOME!
If you need anything at all, let us know, there's always help here. I'm betting that he will do just fine though.
Congratulations, you are now Tripawd pawrents!

Things are going pretty good. The introductions went really well. My other dogs seemed to sense that he was hurt and accepted that he was new and went about their business.
He is getting around pretty good. He follows Mike around everywhere he goes. Mike is now laying on the floor and Tri is laying down with him.
He is really thirsty and hungry. I think this is from his meds that he is on.

Geez, reading your story it is embarrassing to be a human sometimes!!
From my experience here it seems that young dogs seem to bounce back much quicker from surgery than the older pups. But don't get discouraged if he has some down time- coming off the surgery meds sometimes does that. Hopefully he will sail through recovery.
You guys are awesome for taking him in and getting him the care he needs, not to mention a safe and loving home.
Looking forward to hearing lots of stories as Tri grows up.

Congratulations on your new baby!!! You two are completely pawsome!!!! Thanks goodness Tri's life has gone from hell to heaven with hours.
I hope that guy is banned from having animals. I lived in Texas for a year or so and lost count of how many dogs I rescued from the side of the road.
Sending loads of hugs and wags

Since I'm coming in late, thank goodness the page defaults to the last pages and I saw the pics first! I went back and read your entire post and was mortified! Why oh why do humans have to be so cruel? But bless you for taking him into your home and getting him taken care of! Bless you, bless you!
Anyhoo - let's look to the future of happy times! What a wonderful looking little guy he is! I love the laughing pics of him! What an adorable little munchkin!
As one that rescued a three legged dog from cruel humans, I will tell you from experience that your world will be filled with love and joy. It was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever experienced in my life.
We are here to help so please don't hesitate to ask!
Hugs to you and your boyfriend!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Everything is going great. Tri (no new name yet) is adjusting really well. He has become Mike's new shadow. Tri has decided he wants to play with my cats. They are to keen on playing though... LOL
Mike left to go to work this morning and Tri didn't want him to leave. It was cute. He is having a little trouble getting up from laying down in the kitchen. We placed a bath mat in his favorite spot. He now has no issues at all. Here is another couple adorable pictures....

Oh my dog! Love the whiskers in the second picture from the first group of pictures you posted. Adorable!
Cadence's Mom
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
Sitting here stunned at that idiot neighbor of yours. I'm so upset I can barely type!!!!! Thanks for the pics though, they calmed me down to see your little one is happy and healthy now. You & Mike obviously have hearts of gold!
I've only been a tripawd mom for 9 days now, so I don't have a lot of experience to share. The biggest thing is to get those nonskid rugs down on uncarpeted floors. I learned that lesson the hard way.
Please keep us posted on your progress.

Awww Rocky you are one hansome little fella.
Great news that he is doing so well, Hopefully the rest of his recovery is uneventful.
So cute
Sarah
PS - if that is Mike in the photos it looks like he is as much in love with Rocky as Rocky is with him, - Perfect match! Rocky has definately found the right home this time.
