I am posting an update on Emma today - her surgery was 3/26/14 - I had planned to post a couple of days ago on her 4 month anniversary but had computer "issues"!
So.....Emma is a normal, healthy happy girl. She loves her walks, her bed, her food, cuddles, and treats. She doesn't seem to have any issues due to her amp. at this point. Now my problem is keeping up with her! I am posting a picture of her favorite place to walk - our pasture. She likes the pasture because there are all sorts of cool smells (she has a coonhound nose for sure) and cool sights like 6 deer, and bunnies, and the black feral cat that lives in the barn. We visit the little stream and she splashes and then back to the pasture to roll and roll. Ahhhhhhhhh - a dog's life!
These success stories that others posted got me through many dark days and I hope someone out there will read about Emma and be encouraged that they will be out and about in a few months and the cloud will have lifted!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Yes Alison - she was "Dolly Momma" when she was in rescue. Obviously her "Momma" days are over and I wanted her to have a *new* name and her own identity. She was my first foster fail after 12 fosters so that is a pretty good I think!
After all we went through together with her health - we are bonded! I've had many dogs over 50+ years but she is very, very special. Thanks for remembering her story!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Sally - she did get better about hardwoods but still occasionally has hesitations. She hates to go around corners and she hates to pivot to walk out of the door. I have some mats down for her and I guess it has just improved over time. There was also that "magnetic" draw to the kitchen (food bowl) and to follow me around the house. She is fine as long as she can see me. If I disappear behind a closed door - I might never return
So glad you are still here - you are such a great cheerleader!

Very, very interesting how Emma perceives things. Awwww, I love her little thought bubble...if you get out of her sight you may not come back! What a sweetie!!! She is soooooo fortunate to have her forever home with you!
