Hi everyone!

I am a Mom to 4 rescued pit bulls and 2 rescued small breeds.

My tripod London is one year out this month from her front left amputation after a brachial plexus injury.

She is doing fantastic and I couldn't be happier.

I have added a new 3 legged pup to my pack from the shelter last week. He is a big boy , 5 months and 50 lbs . He as found at 1 week of age dumped at the river with his front toes chewed off. He gets a long great and is fully healed but the shelter suggested amputation. I have refused to do that as I don't think it is necessary and I am going to explore prosthetic options. The leg is not in the way and he still uses it on stairs and to get on and off of things. It is about an inch shorter then the front right leg so the balance is off. I am considering a splint boot to protect the pad and be adjustable since he is still growing and prosthetics arent cheap to keep having remade.

Looking forward to hearing your stories!

Oh gosh it's so nice to hear from you, welcome back! That's terrific London is doing so well.

Congrats on the new pup! Yes, he may be a candidate for prostheses. Check out these OrthoPets interviews that tell more. It's great you're exploring your options.

What's his name? Got photos? We'd love to see them!

P.S. Hope you don't mind I moved your post here, it's a great gathering place for stories like your pack's!
