Just back from the vet this time without Holly 😔 The vet wanted to admit her to try and get her pain under control. He thinks her muscles around her scar are cramping so has added a muscle relaxer to her meds. He had to give her morphine to give her some relief tonight. Missing her like mad now questioning weather or not I made the right decision to have it removed 😔
I think many of us questioned our decision during the healing process - I felt so helpless seeing my dog in pain and not knowing how to help her. If you look back at my posts in August 2014, you'll see that I had a lot of trouble controlling my dog's pain, too. My vet had her on 4 different pain medications before she seemed okay- it was the muscle relaxant that made the biggest difference.
I hope this does it!
Hang in there. She's in the best place for right now. Once they get her pain under control things will start looking up really fast. I don't think there's many of us here that have not questioned our decision along with our own personal meltdowns. Hollys young and in short order she will rock this tripawd world. I know it's tough right now but better days are coming soon. She'll be home before you know it. You and she will have an unbreakable bond having weathered this storm together. Please keep us posted on this very special, beautiful little girl. Hugs! ((()))

Crats! Recovery is so full lf ups and downs. Glad the vet is going to get her pain back under co trol. That will make a huge difference! We are also big on on second opinions arou d nere too!
You made the right decision! That stub of a leg would cause so many issues and so much pain down the road. Probably amputation would jave been the end result anyway!
I too k me about three weeks before I could say I did this FOR my Happy Hannah and not TO her! DC Jack had the same issues. We can definitely say it was a great decision!
Hang in there! Try and get some rest tonight while she's on her pain meds and getting cpgreat care.
Sending hugs! Stay connected, okay,? We are right here by your side!

Okay, it's official, I'm in love with Holly. What an adorable fur-baby!!!
The thing that keeps coming to my mind is that she's still a puppy. And most puppies will cry out even when you've just left the room. So I'm thinking you've got a double (possibly triple) wammy here. She's gonna cry because that's what babies do. But now that she's got amp pains and growing pains to boot, she's not just crying because she's uncomfortable physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Bless her heart, and yours too, I can't imagine how miserable she is.
But, on the flip side, she is a puppy and she'll rebound very quick. Before you know it, Holly's gonna be into so much and you'll giggle at this large speed-bump.
PICTURES!!!! (please?)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Well she came home last night and is much more comfortable. The swelling has reduced considerably and she's getting about great. Tho she's not been interested in licking it because she's been so sore but now she's feeling better she's started trying so is now sporting a lovely pink cone. Only problem is I don't think it's designed for a dog with such huge ears 😂
Been waiting and waiting for an update...and it was well worth the wait!!!!
Sooooo glad she seems to be feeling better! Getting that pain managed is quite a challenge. Its certainly is still early in recovery and Holly doesn't feel like having a pawty yet!
And those ears are HUGE!!! ADORABLY HUGE!
Tha ks for the update. Looking forward ro more...with poctures of course!!
Hugs to all!

And here's another hint for a phone...
Being on a Mac or PC does not matter. Photos just need to be hosted somewhere online so you can paste in the Image URL when using the Insert Image button (the one with the small tree) in your forum post edito
Good luck
One of the geeks will come along soon and help
