Hello!
I am new member here and to tell you about my Pirate Gus. He was found in Kansas by shelter. There is no info how he lost his left leg there. He was transferred from KS shelter to New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue of Colorado where I got him last Feb 11. He has been with me almost 3 months. He is sooo AWESOME and FUNNY!
His name is "Gus". I added Pirate cuz of his black patch. Smile.. He is 3 years old and learn some sign language from me. He loves to ride and go dog park. Of course, he is very snuggle. We still get know each other. He found out I can hear him. So he kept bark at me to get my attention to go out, cookies, where is my Breakfast or Dinner! Dang! I am training him as hearing dog to help what I can not hear. He knows how to wake me up himself. He sure is smart.
That's all I can think of....

-- Pam & Pirate Gus
Hello Pam and Pirate Gus,
Gus is gorgeous! It sounds like you were very lucky to find each other! It's great to have a funny, snuggly dog. Our new pup Rita makes us laugh every day!
It is awesome to be a tripawd pawrent! Welcome to the club! We'll look forward to learning more about Pirate Gus.
All the best to you two!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Welcome Pam and Pirate Gus!
It sounds like you two were meant for each other! What a wonderful thing to have found each other. And I'm thrilled you are giving Gus a wonderful life!
Cattle dogs are so smart! Just imagine with time how much more he is going to learn!
Here's to a lot of good times ahead! Keep us posted!

Love Never Ends
Gus you are a cutie! And your Momma is so nice for adopting you! Welcome! We hope you can make it to our pawty on the 19th, it would be great to meet you both.
Hope you don't mind but I moved your post out of "Tripawd Parties" and into this "Beyond Cancer" topic. This is one of the places we have here for Tripawd dogs without cancer to meet and greet. Can't wait to hear more about you!

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
