Our little Baxter is at the two month mark!!!
We've changed so much in his two months.
He is awesome, fantastic, wonderful, amazing! Our precious boy has never slowed down and adapted all his activities to work without the "extra" leg. And taught us many a lesson since his surgery.
I look back to the week of his accident and surgery and can't believe how ridiculous I was- days spent upset and crying and thinking his life was going to be impossible and difficult and he was going to be a handicap dog and how were WE going to manage- I was such a DORK! I know all of you told me he would be fine, but I thought you were just trying to be supportave and encouraging and YOU WERE RIGHT, LOL!
If we humans could only live our lives the way these dogs are trying to teach us. Thank you all so much for getting me thru all of this till I could see how perfectly ok Baxter was going to be!!
Baxter's people, Sonya
Happy Ampuversary, Baxter! We're having some cheese in your honor tonight!
Hugs,
Holly, Zuzu and Susan
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Happy Anniversary, Baxter. Here's to many more milestones and celebrations. Keep showing your mommy how it's done (us mommies will wear the dork hat all day long if it means seeing our pups do something to leave us awesomely speechless!)
Lisa and Zeus
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Bravo to you and Baxter!
You weren't being ridiculous at ALL...those emotions are so normal, every human here has experienced them when faced with amputation for their best friend.
Now that you have this knowledge, pass it along to others. Live life to the fullest, appreciate every single minute and just be hoppy! After all, today is all we have. Why not make the most of it, just like Baxter?
Congrats!!!! You graduated from Doggy U.

Hey Baxter! Look at me! I'm the off-white version of you or you're the black version of me! The difference (other than the obvious) is ........I'm cool. You not.
Monkeydogs are cool. Tripawds drool!
Bwhaahahhahahhahhahaaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Congratulations. Two months is pawesome. It's so amazing to be a Tripawd Mama. I'm glad you are seeing that now.
All the best,
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Happy 2 Months Baxter! I'm glad everyone is happy and normal again!
(Ignore Monkeybutt-bunny Vampire Pirate)
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
