Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I have posted in the forums and hope everyone is well. Last Thursday I put in an application to the local animal shelter for a little guy named Tyke. There are several applications for him so I am still waiting to see if I will be the one bringing him home. They said his stitches had just come out so he would not be placed till the end of this week. Here's his story and some pics from the shelter's website:
"Tyke came into the shelter with a rope wrapped around his rear leg. Because of this, poor Tyke lost his leg. We'll never know what caused this to happen, but we do know that he's one sweet guy that has every intention to stay on the sunny side of life! He loves attention and is very happy. Despite his missing leg, he still gets around well, and can keep up with the best of them! He does well around other dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids. Tyke is small--he's only 12.5 lbs. Tyke also likes his crate, and he's housebroken too! Tyke is a well mannered little man who absolutely loves people. It won't take long for him to burrow his way into your heart!"

I've been waiting to find the right friend for Daisy since her best buddy Splash has moved across town and we only get to see him once every week or two. Daisy just loves little dogs so I think they will get along.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
Love to all-

Keeping ours crossed for you, too. It's so good to hear that Daisy is doing well and looking forward to a new buddy.
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

WOO-HOO! Just found out a little while ago that I have been approved for Tyke's adoption. The "meet and greet" is this Friday at noon and I'll be bringing him home after that.
All those crossed fingers & paws must have done the trick
Marla and Daisy (and soon Tyke, too)
Now I have to think of a better name for him...

Yay, Congrats. So happy to hear you are adopting him. 🙂 Welcome to the family Tyke (until we know his new name).
Such good news

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
