Hello people!

My dog after 9 days that has taking off the stitches, suddenly it appears to have a swelling in this area. When i noticed it, i found out one piece of thread in the Incision and i pull it out ... But the swelling is still here..

Is this something to worry about? The dog is completely normal and doesn't seem to be in pain... Please let me know because our vets here doesn't respond me...

Here is a picture of the Incision

Is there any drainage from that site?  It sort of looks like there might be …

Keep it  clean with just water - no peroxide, no alcohol! - just water.  There's a little bit of redness to it, but it might just be irritation from that stitch you pulled - but keep an eye on that - if the redness gets worse, take her in - it could be infected.

It looks like a local suture reaction.  You can apply Neosporin directly to the spot but if the entire area gets a fluid-filled swelling (seroma ) or if the drainage increases or has an odor then you should see your vet for an antibiotic.

No, always prevent licking of any affected areas. You will find many suggestions for cone of shame alternatives in the Tripawds Gear blog .
