Quite frequently we see "mushroom therapy" mentioned as an option for certain health challenges in dogs.
First question ... are Yunnan Baiyao and Turkey Tail basically the same? Names Interchangeable?
Also, would love to have your input into products by name you may suggest, as well as the source to purchase it.
And one more question. A non member friend has a dog (4 legger) with spleen hermangisarcoma. Has had the dog on Yunan Baiyao for about four weeks now. Started with front loading dose at first and now on maintenance dose. The bleed has stopped. Red cells started increasing but now holding steady at 30-31 (no increase... no decrease). Is it okay to start back at loading dose and repeat cycle as "possibly" this is helping control things for now??

Turkey Tail and Yunnan Baiyao are not the same thing. Yunnan Baiyao is an Eastern Medicine Herb used to control bleeding.

I do not recommend a specific brand of Yunan Baiyao and most of my clients find it on Amazon.
For mushrooms I have always liked Health Concerns but there are other brands that also may be fine; as with any supplement there is no FDA regulation so pick a company that does toxicity and quality assurance testing.

Reading this, and doing more search on what's in Yunnan Baiyao, it was clear it had nothing to do with mushrooms. Although both links say the Chinese do have secret ingredients in it, it outlines the list of known ingredients (although I don't know what they all ,are), nothing spunds like a mushroom!!)Duh!
All this time I thought it was "mushroom therapy". So Turkey Tail IS a mushroom good gor stopping internal bleeding (anecdotal of course)? Now searching to see if Turkey Tail and Yunnan can be used together.
