One of our chocolate lab puppies was born with a deformed front paw. She has a little flap of a paw with two toe nails. She is just a week old and my question is if it would be better to remove the little paw or just leave it. She is healthy otherwise.

I'm not a vet by any stretch of the imagination, but what I've been told by canine rehab therapists is that a dog who loses a leg that young may experience mobility challenges because they haven't developed motor skills on 4 legs yet. If you did amputate, it would be wise to work with a therapist to ensure she gets off to the right start.
Also, she may be an ideal candidate for a prosthetic! See our posts about prosthetics and consider consulting with an orthopedic vet experienced with prosthetics to see if that's an option for you.
