3+ months ago an MRI showed a mass just off C7.  Without a biopsy a diagnosis could not be confirmed. Probably NST, possibly Neuritis. My dog has been on Prednisone for 3 months with no signs of progression to other limbs. Will steroids cure the Nueritis? How long could it take? If there is no further deterioration in his condition at what point would you assume this is not NST? I would like to have some idea when I can start to breath again. Thank you in advance.

How big was the mass?  A nerve sheath tumor is most likely, although other tumors can be present in this area.  Neuritis can be helped by steroids, but some tumors are also temporarily helped by the same drug.  Unfortunately the only way to really know is a repeat MRI or CT scan, but that can be pretty pricey.  I would see what the neurologist says.
