It wasn't my intention to dictate to anyone. My comments were not a direct response, but more specific to Roxy. Bigger dogs, with this particular lower spine issue, seem to have similar problems. They manage stairs differently, 4 paws or three...
I wasn't saying there isn't a place for glucosamine & chondrotin, but for this particular problem it may not be beneficial.
We live in a very different climate, and I was sharing some information that might be helpful to anyone who hasn't dealt with it before. it is counterintuitive that the cold here is less of a problem, and it took me a while to figure it out.
Same goes for the massage, letting Roxy's mom know, as she hasn't dealt with this before.
It was my impression this was an open discussion....sorry if I offended you.
This is an open online discussion, the major draw back to which being we can't see facial expressions or hear inflections in tone. It's hard to remember that sometimes what we read in our heads didn't sound like that when it came out of the writer's. I truly appreciate all sides, all experiences, and any advice I receive.
Good point Leslie! No worries everypawdy. It's a given here that because most of us aren't vets, we are only writing about our own shared experiences and not offering medical advice to others here. It's all about sharing, and nobody's going to get offended by learning about how others have gone through the situation.
Hugs all around, darnit! 😉

Kidding aside! Oh gosh, I hope no one is upset! We are all just trying to help each other! And sometimes even I catch myself writing in a bad style and then I realize later that it sounded condescending.
When I first came to tripawds, I totally toned down my sense of humor because I was so afraid I would offend someone with my sarcastic humor and it would come off as 'digs'.
Plus, I know you all but I know Cynthia and Karen pretty well privately - and they are most loving and caring individuals!
So, be mad at me instead for sticking my nose in this!
And if you want a cure for arthritis, 3 peanut butter cookies will do the trick! At least that's what Comet said to me!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Nothing like Cometdog to set things right!
Show's over. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
