I got 2 estimates for Hank from 2 different hospitals. One is for radiation and the other for chemo. I have no idea what the difference is and how do I determine what is best for my dog.

Please consult with your oncologist, or get a third opinion if neither are explaining the basics of treatment.

Chemotherapy is an isotope administered intravenously and radiation is blasted by machine at the affected area. Both treatments have differing affects and results and oftentimes one is better suited than the other depending on the type of cancer and location.

I need to book an appointment with the oncologist that sent me the Chemo estimate no matter what. I guess I will start there.

Tazzie,

Hank had Osteo and he is a front amputee.

I agree that I would start with the oncologist. Chemo is traditionally the first line of treatment. I would love to hear what they say about radiation.
