Dr. Patty Khuly posted an informative article in her Doolittler Blog answering questions about blood work and why your pet needs it. The post includes a helpful description of the CBC (blood cell analysis) we hear so much about in these forums.

We think so too! Isn't she great?
I was just telling Jim that whenever a new fur kid comes around into our life again, we will definitely be more vigilant about bloodwork. I've been reading a lot about veterinary care for dogs, and now I really understand how important a regular work up is.

Dr. Khuly just posted part two of her blood work article which covers blood chemistry for cats and dogs in great detail. This and her Complete Blood Count article above make a great primer for anyone who needs a better understanding of blood work tests for their dog.

I was trying to figure out all the different tests that were run on Boinks this last go around and thought I'd share some additional info on what I found.
She had two http://old.cvm....../tests.htm
It can be confusing when all of this gets lumped into the catch-all term "blood work." Hope this is useful information.
Useful indeed. Thanks!
