Hello, I started giving Levi Artemisinin , Artemix, and Butyrex 11 days ago. After reading this site, talking to others, and reading other sites this is the dosage I decided to try: 2 Artemix (each pill is 40mg artemether, 50mg Artesunate, and 50mg Artemisinin ) I also gave him 3 100mg of Artemisinin and two Butyrex. Well, everything was going fine until a day ago. Levi seemed a little sick and threw up a small amount of food. But then this morning I woke up to throw up Everywhere! It was awful. Without giving too much detail, let's just say Butyrex the second time around is Horrible. (Carpet cleaners are scheduled for tomorrow). Anyway, obviously I need to change something up. I feel like my options are 1. Lower the dosage 2. Change the time of day I give to him. I've been giving it at night but by doing this I have taken away his "bedtime snack" since you can't give Arte with food. I'm wondering if his stomach is just too empty all night. (Sometimes he gets sick if he has an empty stomach-even before he was on any meds). Maybe I should give it to him around Noon instead so he can eat at night like usual? The other thought was skip the Butyrex.
Just to give you some history: Levi was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma July '11, He had his left front leg amputated October 14, and we discovered Lung Mets January 4. We tried a few different Chemo's but they didn't seem to be doing anything. So, Since about January 20 I've been giving him a small dose of Doxycycline, Previcox, and I give him K9 Critical Care supplements (similar to K9 immunity ). I really wanted to try the Arte in the hopes of shrinking the lungs mets. Any thoughts you have would be great. There just isn't any concrete information anywhere. Thanks!

Levi was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 7-7-11
Ampuversary 10-14-11
Lung Mets Discovered 1-4-12. Chemo seemed to not be working so we switched to Artemisinin and other supplements. In May, Levi developed a sinus infection and started having seizures. The cancer had moved to his brain. We let him go 6-26-12.

Have you checked out the Artemisinin and Cancer group over at Yahoo? They have some fantastic resources. I wish I knew more about it but I don't. We do plan on having a holistic doc who does know a lot about it, very soon on Tripawd Talk Radio , so stay tuned.

You can give artemisinin with dairy so I used to give Tazzie's with cheese.  You can probably reduce the dose.  Tazzie was 180 pounds and she got 2 Butyrex and I think 200 mg of artemisinin (I did not do the combo product).  I would reduce the dose and then if he tolerates it  you could slowly increase it.  I gave Tazzie her pills at night before bed but noon would also work fine.  A dog's stomach should be relatively empty 2 hours after a meal.
