Hello,
sorry to keep asking questions that might have come up before... but I didn't find anything on anabolics in the archives so here we go.
My vet suggested adding some anabolic to help Horacia buid up muscles, as she is having a hard time with her leg muscles at the moment. I don't really know what to think, as I have always been very inclined to the "natural" things (so go and work out more!) but maybe this could help Hori?
Please tell me honestly, would you do it, were it your dog?
Thanks
Cecilia

Anabolic steroids can be very helpful in cases of muscle weakness and they do not have the side effects of prednisone (a corticosteroid). If your vet is suggesting it then I would try it since a dose or two can't hurt and may make her feel much better. One of the other tripawds here was going to try it for kidney issues and weakness (Mac?) so maybe they will post to tell us how he handled it.

Appreciate the clarification about what anabolic steroids are, Pam, we had no idea they aren't like prednisone.
What would we do without you? Thank you so much for all you do here.
