Hello,

I'm a fostering a pit bull mix tripod. He just had his surgery 4 days ago. When I took him home they told me to expect some bleeding or drainage.

But how much is too much?! It had definitely slowed down since the first 2 days, but it's still happening, especially when I take him out for potty breaks.

Should I be concerned? When can I expect this to stop?

Did he have his front leg or his back leg removed?  There may be some generalized oozing but this often stops after 5-7 days. Does he have a pressure wrap?  This is usually only done for front leg amputees but can really help. If  you see fresh red blood that is dripping I would call the vet but some blood in the bandage can be normal.
