Today is Zeus' nine month ampuversary. Best present ever? DADDY CAME HOME LAST NIGHT! Second best present ever? Zeus got McD's french fries yesterday for ampuversary-eve! It was a good day.
On a sad note, Zeus did not eat all of his breakfast this morning for the first time ever. He is very weak today and is having trouble walking. Seems uncoordinated. This morning he even whimpered a little as daddy picked him up. He is currently resting and sleeping but we realize that the time is very very near.
In the meantime, please celebrate his NINE months and we would like it if you would go all-out and celebrate his entire almost-twelve-years!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Woo Hoo, I told the chauffeur to bring the truck around front, we are all going to In and Out to celebrate Zeus' 9 month ampuversary and upcoming 12th birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My big sister Penny will have her own cheeseburger, my big brother Charlie, will have all the french fries anyone will give him!
And I will have some cheeseburger bun, some fries and some cheeseburger.

I came here looking just for this, and you'd just written it! I knew today was the big day and really wanted to see how things were. This is a really big deal for Zeus. I know he came into this adventure as an older dog with suspicious bad guys lurking around. That means that any extra time is a bonus round. Zeus has gotten a whole bunch of bonus rounds!
It's got to be bittersweet celebrating this right now, but you have the right idea in celebrating his entire life. He's been an amazing friend and companion to you and Greg and that is worth celebrating. He's spent almost 12 years teaching you all sorts of lessons, and when he leaves he will be confident that you've learned them and will be alright. You're stronger than you think you are, Lisa. Please party with your boy for as long as you have him!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

WAY TO GO ZEUS! We are thrilled that your pack is all together again, celebrating what is no less than a miracle. Your life on three legs is one of the most inspawrational stories on earth, and now that you're nine months out, you have really touched so many more people than I'm sure you and your folks ever dreamed of. Thank you for being here to share it with us!
Lisa, we are familiar with the bittersweet feelings you've got right now. When I celebrated my 10th birthday, it was only two days later that I went on to earn my wings. But that 10th birthday is one that was so special, maybe even moreso than french fries and a double cheesseburger! 
So what I'm saying is, let the feelings of wonder, love and miracles fill your life for this magical moment, you have all earned it!

I'm so so so thrilled that you are all getting to spend some time together as a family. Way to go on your big 9 month ampuversary, handsome boy! And a very happy almost-12 years! There will be much celebrating here today in honor of Mr. Zeus.
No matter what happens tomorrow, or the next day, or a month from now, Zeus is and will always be a tripawd hero who provides endless hope and inspawration to pups and pawrents everywhere! Have a wonderful day and love that boy up for all of his tripawd buddies!

We're all Zeus fans logging on wishing and hoping for a happy Zeus update and we just got it. The bad news is that now Harley asked what are french fries and cheeseburgers -- I guess one of these days I'll have to take him to McD's.

Harley is an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Amp surgery for an infiltrative lipoma canceled due to two masses in chest. A rescue, he found his forever home on 3/18/07 and left for his eternal home on 1/09/13. His story and medical history are at http://myharley.....pawds.com/

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. It was wonderful to read this news today. Celebrate and enjoy this wonderful milestone. I'm sorry that the time to say goodbye is closing in but for now, celebrate life and the wonderful teachings of a truely inspirational Tripawd.

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end.
