when you buy your first BRAND NEW CAR (in my case a Tahoe with all the bells and whistles and captain chairs in the back so your tripawd can hop to the front and nestle his nose on the counsel) and your S/O wants drive through but you won't let him eat in the new car for fear of crumbs and in the very next 5 minutes both your dogs climb up on the leather chairs in the back and put their wet snouts to the windows....he looks at me like seriously? You're not going to yell at your dogs?

when you walk in the door after work and before you do ANYTHING else, you feed your dogs

when you have plans to go to dinner and the movies on a saturday night with your boyfriend and after dinner you look at him and suggest you go home instead and watch something on demand so you can snuggle on the couch....with your dog 🙂 (and your S/O too of course!!)

when (as someone already mentioned) you'll spend countless $$$ on your fur kids for meds, toys, new bed, etc...but you're worried about that starbucks cup of coffee because is it really worth the extra bucks??

when your dog (as in last night) wants to get up on the couch and doesn't seem to have enough room to climb up, so you get up from the couch so he can easily jump up on the couch and he ends up taking your spot...you just kiss the top of his head and sit on the floor. LOL - yes I did !!!

Ok...last one...when I lived with just Buddy and Zeus (before moving in with S/O), the boys slept with me and they happened to take over the bed one particular night. Both snoring away and I couldn't move and wasn't comfortable, so I get up and move to the guest bedroom rather than disturb them. That one is pretty pathetic, but amusing...and I would do it again.

Tons of love to all the doggie lovers!!!

When you don't give a hoot about the super bowl, but can't wait to watch the puppy bowl! Oh, and I really want a bowl cam!

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

I loved reading all these posts! I'm guilty of most all of the above!

When I first started dating my husband, he wanted to wash and clean my car.  Well he was in for a big surprise when it took him two day's to vacuum out all the dog hair! Oops!

When we got married I came as a package deal; a Rudy dog and two furry cats. My poor husband had no pets growing up and then had instant furry family! We even took Rudy with us on our Honeymoon:)

When I decided to buy a new car, I picked it out with my Rudy in mind. It has a large cargo area and a window that goes down in the back cargo area so that he can stick his head out and enjoy the views!

When Rudy used to be able to jump up on the bed, we would come home to find him sleeping in the bed in the spare bedroom.  So we now call the spare the bedroom, Rudy's room.

We have several dogs beds all over the house and of course a spare dog bed at my parents.

I sing all sorts of songs too.  Some songs are made up and some are existing songs with the word 'Rudy' in place of most of the words! My husband will mostly sing the back up chorus:)

When you meet and become friends with people because of your dog.

Love it! Yes I know I'm a dog lover and now I've converted my husband too!

What a great thread, lots of yup, yups here.  Just thought of a couple more.  When you leave the bathroom door open while have a nice soak in the tub, so that if your puppers miss you they can come visit.  🙂

And one more, this one is for my DD chi, when out for a pee walk, and when she gets too cold you unzip your jacket and place her inside and hold her snug while your ungloved hands freeze.

Pushing a pug in a stroller is adorable.....pushing 54lbs of Isabelle around the city stopped people in their tracks. That was before her amputation, because of her arthritis. Blissfully, she can walk on her own now!

-Chloe's mom

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog

....when you have a formal, evening wedding in Manhattan and spend $$$$ extra to have the reception at the museum across the street from your house so your Labrador can come to cocktails after walking down the aisle in an 19th century gothic church (priest said "dogs are God's creatures too")

....and your dog "hosted" the Thursday night drinks

....and your husband demands that paw prints be placed on the cake and the favor bags at your formal, evening wedding (Karen, we are simpatico) ....

ps Ajax was a quad pawd then, and the bride had to fight for attention.  can't imagine anyone would have noticed me at all if Ajax had been in his regal tripawdness.aw-shucks

these are all so great and relatable!

(Happy 50th Birthday Karen 🙂

How about always having to check your lipgloss to make sure you don't have long black dog hairs on your lips because you leaned in for one last kiss on your dogs forehead before you went off to work.  It happens everyday!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Eh, dog hair's a condiment in this household.

We never sweat about cooking for dog people, they totally get it!
