Totally understand those crazy bacterial infections. Sophie got one when she was a year old, caused terrible pyometra and she had emergency spay - almost killed her as none of the antibiotics worked. Had us freaked out for a while - did swabs all over the farm and sent them to UGA labs. To no avail - just had to get over it and move on. Docs said we may never know as it could have been something as simple as a visiting bird that was here one day and gone the next.

I even asked Dr. Williams if that bad infection from three years ago could have anything to do with her seizures - he said bacterial infections could cause neurological issues but we would have seen something before three years. Also spoke to him yesterday about the snake bite she endured 10 months ago that caused her whole leg to swell up. Again he said yes snake venom can cause neurological issues but would have seen something before 10 months. It's possible she could have had seizures when we were out one night, but as we work from home, she is pretty much under supervision 24/7.

Interesting info I thought.

Wow poor Sophie's been through so much! I'm glad she was able to make those recoveries. She's a strong dog, she can handle whatever comes her way.

So yeah you totally understand about not getting any clear answers from your vets. It's so frustrating...we can put a man on the moon but so many medical things are still a mystery. Sigh.
