I thought everyone would get a kick out of this. We adopted our Daryl, a right front Tripawd in September of 2014. My Granddaughter, who turned 5 yesterday has spent hours with him, cuddling, feeding him things he is not to have, such as Goldfish and marshmallows and just hanging out. She has had 3 sleepovers and a lot of visits. She still thinks I should change his name because she does not like the name Daryl.   She went home after her last sleepover 2 weeks ago and asked my daughter, " did you know that Daryl only has 3 legs?" All that time and she never noticed. He is just her buddy.  I just thought this was so cute and had to share. Kids don't notice differences. When in life do we get so jaded and start to notice. I want to become more kid or more dog. Pure unconditional LOVE!

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

AWE! How cute is that? Pure love ... totally pure love and blissful ...

Reminds me of those ads about race and gender where kids don't notice ... they just want to be friendly and play. At what point does that end? I also want to be "more dog"... something I strive for!

Thanks for sharing ...

hugs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Adorable!

It's true; kids don't care or usually notice that an animal is a Tripawd. It's usually not until the grown up accompanying them points out that the animal is "different" do they react. And usually, their reaction reflects that of the grown up.

Oh to see the world through the eyes of children is truly a blessing.  Children and furkids are definitely pure unconditional love.  They don't see faults just love and companionship.

Thank you for sharing this it really makes one stop and think.

Hugs

blushblushlaughinglaughingBahahhah! Another typo in a topic title! Sally , I may just have you beat! My tablet sometimes acts so silly. It won't let me put smileys anyplace but the beginning. Not real sure what happened with the title, but I will blame it on the iPad.  Lori , Ty & the canine 3
