The storm system totally missed us here in Columbia, MO. Just a little rain and some pretty gusty wind. It went thru the southern part of the state. I was thinking about Cornhound. They live in Branson which got hit pretty good. They haven't posted lately that I've seen.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
How our pals in Indiana are okay! Still waiting to hear from our East TEN. family!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thanks for thinking about us down here in Branson. Tornado missed our house by about 200ft. Our NOAA weather radio woke us up about 1am and we all piled into the bathroom. (we suggest that everyone get one and code it to your surrounding counties). We kept waiting for a bad storm to come but heard nothing, then the power went out, but still we heard nothing. After a while it seemed like it had missed us so we all went back to bed.
When we woke up in the morning we were shocked to see that it had actually ripped right past us taking out a lot of our neighbors homes, and the lighthouse in the village below us, then it continued down the main strip where all the theaters are, it's pretty devestating. Thankfully no one was killed here as far as we have heard.
Our grandma is actually here staying with us for the winter from Canada, she is from Goderich Ontario and last May a tornado took out here town completely. Yikes!! were kind of thinking that maybe we should all move to somewhere that doesn't get tornados, like maybe Alaska.
By the way Corn is pretty proud of himself today as he actually made it up and down the big slope to the backyard for the first time without any help.
200 ft is WAY to close for comfort-- I am so very relieved that you are safe and no one in Branson was killed. Tornadoes are so scary and so random. However, I hear the mosquitoes in Alaska are relentless-- I'll take my chances with the tornadoes!
Well done Corn the slope-climber!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
well, cornhound..don't move to ET if you don't want crazy weather!! we are all good here in knoxville - much rain and much wind, but the tornadoes seemed to veer either north or south, so we dodged the bullet... glad others are OK too - good karma follows the tripawd community in this storm.

Not in actual tornado alley; but in one of the areas hit last night - the closest one was a few miles fromour house. The kids and I just stayed in the family room, prepared to head to the basement if needed.
Jac and Angel Spencer. Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder. Left front leg amputated in August 2011. 15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria). Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11. Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day. See his blog here: http://spencer.tripawds.com/
