Meet Sam. We decided if we were going to ever get Tate a little sister, we'd better do it now. When we called the breeder with the bad news of Tate's diagnosis, she'd just had a litter of 12, born on Super Bowl Sunday. So she had puppies coming out of her ears. We finally got around to picking her up last weekend. She's a smart little girl, learning the ropes pretty fast.

Puppies are a challenge - ask Ge'Lena! You guys should start a puppy topic, so we can all laugh at the antics. Ge'Lena called poor Cosmo Bernie bin Laden Jr yesterday. Bwhahahaha!

Oh yeah, we have antics, that's for sure. They are so much fun. They're flat coated retrievers. Rick and I each did our research independently and both wound up with flat coats at the top of our lists. Easy breed, intelligent, obedient. The breed is a cross between a newfie and an Irish setter, with some black lab thrown in. But frankly, I find the breeder set a little...um, well just not our kind of peeps I guess, at least around here. Except for Tate's breeder, Krieger Ridge Kennels in WI. We just love Barb, great dogs and lots of support.

I could have sworn I posted a comment earlier and now I don't see it so here goes again....what a cutie pie!! I love flat coats and both Tate and Sam look like they could be related. So happy for you and Tate - I'm sure she makes a great addition to your family. Puppies must be in the air as we just got a golden retriever puppy (12 weeks old - born on 2/25) and I know there are others on here who just recently brought puppies into their homes too. Just love reading about all these new puppies!

My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!

I HATE PUPPIES!
If I didn't have to monitor every move this 8mth old monster puppy I have does, I'd write a nice note on how cute your little one is! 
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I'm not going to let my pawrents drink that "puppy water." I don't want any little fur ball taking my toys or all the attention off of me 🙂 I rule this house, as you all know!!
I digress, Sam is adorable and I would be happy to lay in the sand and watch Sam and Tate swim in the ocean at our next Chicago Tripawd Pawty!!

How adorable! I love that breed. Please post more pics of Sam when you can. Puppies are showing up left & right around this place. I hope to make an announcement soon 
regarding puppies....and I do mean more than one.....Dogs are like potato chips...you can't have just one...
