. . . but the first quarter of 2015 has just been kicking my butt. But then again, maybe it all started when Harmony was diagnosed and eventually passed on 11/1/14. Then we adopted Meesha in December.
January came and my dad had a stroke that blinded him. Two weeks later he had a massive stroke which took his left side. He immediately went into rehab, but just couldn't get better. Like Harmony, he was just too weary. My dad escaped his physical prison March 21st.
Needless to say, my world has been upside down for a bit and I apologize for being away.
To Alison:
I'll always remember Shelby's date because it is also my dad's birthday, 4/8. Maybe that's why she had been sending me signs. Maybe it was her way of preparing me for Dad's departure. Maybe she was telling me that she would be welcoming him on the other side. By now, I'm sure she has found his lap. 
Whew, I need a vacation.

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Hey, don't ever worry about being away. Shit (excuse the term) does all come at once, I don't know why, maybe a test of some sort. So very sorry about your father. It is so hard to lose a parent. We are all buds no matter how long we lay low.

I agree with Penny, we all have our times of a needed emotional vacation from here, for one reason or another, so never feel an apology is needed. So very sorry for the loss of your dad, I can surely relate.....repeated strokes took both my dad AND mom.....it is so difficult a situation, I do know what you are feeling.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, and hoping your hurting heart eases with time....

Oh Pam, I'm so sorry. You have really been through the ringer.
Yes, you were missed. When someone given such compassionate and loving support like you do, your absence is noticed! I say that to only let you know how valuable you are to the community, not to make you feel guilty AT ALL for putting your energies towards your Dad. All this while still grieving over Harmony and taking care of Meesha!
Your Dad had huge hurdles to overcome...huge. His soul decided it didn't need that body anymore. He knew he was loved and he knew he had given love. He felt his life was complete. And he knew you would understand why he needed ro be released back to energy.
Thank you for sharing what's been going on with you. We love you and, as your extended family, we are all here for you.
Yes, you do indeed need a vacation! How far do you love crom Virginia? You could make the Tripawds Pawty in May be a vacation!!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Pam I'm sooooo sorry I had no idea your Dad had passed. My heart goes out to you and your family. You all fought so hard. May Harmony and your Dad watch over you and give you the light and love you need to heal and remember the happier times. Many, many hugs coming your way.

Oh Pam , I mam just seein this s I'm on vacation with limited internet access. I. a so sorry for your loss. Most definitely Shelby was there to greet your father and jumped give him lots of hugs I am so glad hrs a been by your side - she was always such a giver.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Pam, sorry to hear about your father's stroke and my condolences on his death. These recent losses are hard and stressful. I hope you can take time to grieve and recuperate.

PAM!!!! I almost forgot to mention this ... if Shelby is visiting YOU ... Harmony has been with me. I saw no less than THREE streets named "Harmony" while I was on spring break holiday. I've never seen these streets before in my life.
AND I was shopping and saw a sign that said "Harmony".... she was letting me know that she was there and I know this to be true!
