I always thought Rainbow Bridge was a nice idea but never gave much thought as to whether I truly believed it.

Zeus left us early afternoon yesterday. It was a beautiful sunny day with absolutely not a drop of rain.  Greg and I went to the grocery to try and distract ourselves and as we pulled into the parking lot this is what we saw:

I can't say that the iphone took the clearest pic, but it was a perfect rainbow that was actually not a "bow" but just a streak in the sky.  You can see the sun to the left of this picture.  Then we looked on the other side of the sun and you can see another stripe immediately above the tree in front of the building.

Maybe Rainbow Bridge really does exist....

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Awww, I love that. The "sun dog" was definitely a sign from Zeus.

It's really not uncommon for people to see or hear signs from their dogs soon after saying goodbye. From rainbows to barks far off in the distance to just a sense that their pup is nearby, the magic never goes away, it just changes form.

Hang in there this week, I know it's tough to acclimate to the world when your heart is hurting so much. {{{{hugs}}}}

Lisa, when I saw your post on Zeus Saturday night, that was the first thought that came to my mind because there had been a rainbow here also either Saturday or Friday late afternoon or early evening.  That was the second rainbow I saw this summer and I have not seen them in many, many years.  Maybe coincidence, maybe not.  I like to think it was Zeus letting you know he arrived and continues to shine.

Harley is an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Amp surgery for an infiltrative lipoma canceled due to two masses in chest. A rescue, he found his forever home on 3/18/07 and left for his eternal home on 1/09/13. His story and medical history are at http://myharley.....pawds.com/

The dog closest to sweetpea- goes out in the backyard, the same time every night - to act as if he is being chased and playing with her. I got a book "cold noses at the pearly gates" that has helped us, too.
