Adelaide and Aissa (and the cats Mathilde, Morrigan, and Bagheera) have a new sister!
Miss Maggie May has officially been adopted into the pack as of this afternoon. The girls met her a couple weeks ago at daycare and then Maggie became available for adoption through one of the local humane societies. I immediately put our application in and we got the word the other night that we were accepted.
Adelaide and her and going to be such good friends. You can see from tonight that they already both enjoy having somebody to play with:
Miss Maggie May is 16 weeks old and a Great Pyrenees. Normal range for a female great pyrenees is that she will grow to be between 85 and 100 pounds. We already adore her. She has explored and played and is now taking a puppy nap. Here are more puppy pics...
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

She's precious... congrats! I am so jealous that you can let her off the leash and she just wanders around your yard. Jasper would be gone in a heartbeat! And Shelby too.... guess that's what I get for having herd dogs! 🙂

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

She's settling in good. Slept in bed with me last night, along with Adelaide, and Aissa for most of the night, and Mathilde for some of the night. We went to bed late at about 1:30 and then she woke me up at 3:40 to go out. She woke me up at 7:30 to go out again. And then she did not want to go back to bed, so Adelaide and her played downstairs while I tried to catch up on some sleep on the couch. She is definitely a chewer, so while at the pet boutique getting dog food, I also stocked up on more chew style toys and antlers. And now we are crashed....
And under this chair seems to be her favorite spot. 🙂

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.

A few more pictures for an update. We had a good day. While Sally called us, we took a walk outside and Maggie and Adelaide were so cute playing. Most of these are a blur, but that's what happens when puppies are running at full bore. Then little miss Maggie May played in the sprinkler, followed by some tree chewing on one of the outside dog beds.
And we have one wet puppy
