My son Aidan received an awesome gift today--a yellow footed tortoise--from KaCee, Angel Riley's mom. We now have a monkeytort! Aidan didn't know this was coming (I kept my mouth shut) and was surprised and absolutely delighted. He's a reptile guy. Aidan named his new baby Roxy. So within a few days, Roxy will be zooming across the floor, ramming into Dakota's feet and knocking him over. May the monkeybutt legacy continue and evolve with this new species addition!  winker

Aidan says: "Wow, KaCee!"

Oh cute! Hey how did the tortoise get there? Did he walk all the way from California?

Jerry, it's a GRRL! Roxy! That's a grrl! And no she did not walk from Cali, she put on her pink cape (the one with sparkles) and flew! You know that!

Roxy the Monkeytort is a special needs tortoise that needed a home so Shari made a mad dash this morning to UPS in Boulder Colorado so she could pick up Roxy for Aidan who already has a special needs lizard…

I do tropical tortoise rescue and Roxy's yolk sack didn't absorb as it should have before a breeder shipped her so her shell was not growing properly thus the reason I ended up with her and I in turn found her the perfect home…Thank you Shari and Aidan!!!

Oh we ain't perfect yet, but thanks for the vote of confidence! And there was actually no pink cape in the box with her. Oversight?

Kisses,
Abby

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Dogs seem to think turtles and tortoises are walking bones. Adult supervision required. Batteries not included. With batteries, she might actually be faster than a tripawd!

we have a garden box turtle that's lived in our yard for at least five years.  we know it's the same turtle each time we see it, as it has some 'scuff' marks' from where jane originally thought it was a 'walking cow hoof'...thankfully gayle has no interest in it, and sam just wants to bark it out of the yard!!  turtle be ware, you are indeed a walking chew toy!!!

charon & gayle

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
