Pearl is the name of one of my burros, and Mae is actually the middle name of my grandmother, Loney Mae. My other grandmother didn't have a middle name, thank goodness, as I can't imagine what would go with Hortense! LOL!

I'm still leaning toward Rose and Rhea, I think it fits them perfectly.

On a side note, Meesha got real sick yesterday and was vomiting everywhere. I had to take her to the vet yesterday afternoon where they found she has swallowed something and it's lodged in her colon. Needless to say, I'm worried sick about her. She stayed there overnight so they could give her some fluids and an enema hopefully to get the object completely through her digestive track without surgery. On the xrays it looks to be a hickory nut or an immature walnut still in its green casing.

It was very stoic this morning stepping out on the porch. There's a touch of fall in the air as the leaves rustle in the wind and blow across the sidewalk. I look down at Melody as I'm about to leave for work and remember it was this time last year we started the end of Harmony's journey. And here I am, once again, comforting Melody because she's alone today as we wait to hear news about our Meesha.

xoxo

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I've talked with the dogtor several times since leaving Meesha Rhea (I like that sound) in their care. Last night she wasn't able to pass-the-mass, however, I just got off the phone and she said that they were able to get results this morning and it seems Meesha has eaten anything/everything that she can. I was told that the mass was nothing but a combination of sticks, leaves, nuts, etc. Not exactly the roughage one needs to stay healthy.

Anyway, it's a huge weight off my heart as we were told that she's now able to drink and eat without vomiting. She's also back to her wiggly self (tail wags the dog) and loving on everyone. She really scared me yesterday as she got so lethargic I thought we were going to lose her. We're going to pick her up this afternoon and my heart is soooooooooo happy!

Now, how do I keep her from ingesting all this stuff? We live in the country on a farm. Even when we watch her consistently, all it takes is split second and she's got Styrofoam in her mouth!

Guess I celebrated too soon, before the hub-a-dub got out of the parking lot with Meesha, she threw up all over him. He had to take her back. This is really starting to worry me.

Oh, I hope it was just a case of her eating too much, too fast. Ty had that happen once, he ate his bed and had a bunch of fiberfill stuck. He passed it without surgery. I saw Chandler munching on some sort of nut, acorn.. Who knows tonight. Not sure how you keep them out of the stuff, especially Labs. I hope she feels better soon. So sorry this is happening at this time of year. It is hard enough to have the memories flood back, but to be worrying about Meesha at the same time. Keep us posted. Hugs, Lori, Ty & Gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

Oh Pam... I am so sorry you are going through this right now. I don't know how you keep dogs let alone labs from eating anything they want. I'll keep positive energy coming your way for Meesha. I am sure she will be fine. I know once Shelby ate a TON of red vines and had to pass via top and bottom (if you get my drift). She got a saline drip and looked like a camel. She was off for a couple days but pulled through... I think they can give them something to soften it up too (Shelby also ate chicken bones out of the trash).

Keep us posted! We are all thinking about you!!!

Darn! Meesha, what the heck sweet girl? If I didn't know better it sounds like you also ate a swuirrel. After all, you have a perfect squirrel haven...twigs and leaves for a cozy nest and lots of nuts for winter stoarge!

Pam, the fact that she did start feeling like her sweet self at the vet is good. Not sure why she vomited again, but the vets will figure it out.

We are ALL cheering for you Meesha!! Update when you can.

Love!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

The vet called last night and said she had a second consult with another vet-friend and they believe there is something going on in her gut. They're seeing a loop that shouldn't be there. She's been scheduled for surgery this morning. I should hear something around 10:00.

I'm exhausted, we're actually trying to move in the middle of all this. Meesha is a priority, and it's going to be crazy around here for the next 2 weeks or so. The house we're moving to is in the middle of renovations.

If you're a prayer, add Meesha and her pack to your list. If you're not a prayer, add us to your mantra. I'll take positive thoughts, feelings, best wishes, whatever we can get.

Thanks everyone. xoxo

OH Meesha! Are you taking leads from Wyatt Ray ? Crazy girl.

I'm just now catching up and hoping you are getting some good news. Hang in there. Wyatt has had his share of eating crazy objects and he's come through every time. I have a friend who's dog constantly eats rocks, same there.

You are most definitely in our thoughts, hang in there. I know things must be crazy for you right now!
