Awww I am so happy for you. You just know in your heart when it starts pointing you to look at rescue pages that it's making room....and I'm sure Lily is pushing your heart wide open. I swear I think that's what they do, each dog just makes our hearts bigger and bigger! When I saw Roscoe, he actually had an application already and so I filled out the app and left it up to fate. A week went by and when I called the rescue they told me someone was already in the process but I was next on the list. Then BANG, next thing I know those people stopped returning the rescues phone calls and he was mine Lily will guide you and whatever pup she has in store for you she will lead you right to them. If Hunk (LOVE that name!) is that pup then she will surely bring him home

Nicole you have been given great advice. This is such a personal decision. Rescues are wonderful. Blaze is from Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue. But you know Goldens are so prone to cancer. If your heart is set on a golden puppy I suggest you try to find a reputable golden breeder with a long record of long lived dogs. Good golden breeders make a commitment to breed for longevity and not to any dog with cancer in the family tree. It's possible. But then you might end up with another devastating illness like my golden Jag got at just two years old. Menningitis. There are no guarantees in life. So get pet insurance too!

And we thank LILY for giving us the lovely gift of the two of you!!
Yes...if its meant to be, Hunk wiil be yours! You may, or may not, have some hurdles dealing with some rescue groups...a lot of times dogs that are still losted have been adopted, etc.
The loint is, your heart is now open and, as Elizabeth said, it's getting bigger and bigger with each dog that comes into your life!
Keep us posted! Cannot wait to see where all this goes!
We lpve you!

For sure one of the gifts Trouble left me with was the many tripawd relationships. Still keep in touch with those who no longer are on the forum.
