There has been quite a bit of debate between us, as well folks at the dog park, as to what breed Tanner may or may not be. The rescue organization we got him from listed him as a "shepherd/lab" mix; however, that seems to be the one thing we can all agree on doesn't really seem to fit? I have my guess...but just curious as to what all my dog loving friends here think.
Tanner is 2 years old and 35lbs.

My vote would be Heinz 57. LOL.
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Okay, I've done research and I'm pretty sure he is the rare breed...PURE BRED ADORABLE....perhaps mixed in with a little PURE BRED COMEDIAN!!!!!
I dont know how much those DNA tests cost, or if they are even accurate, vut it would be fun to see what ti says. 
I'm pretty sure Napoleon may show up somewhere!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Basenji mix? Those EARS!!! I love how they can go UP or down. Jasper's area always up... even to the side, they are up. LOL
He's so adorable... he loves his mama that is for sure.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I'm not an expert in breeds but he sure is adorable with those expressive ears.
I walk a Staffie/Corgi mix weekly and I immediately thought jaw and face reminded me of part Staffordshire Terrier. But those ears are from somewhere awfully special!

Heinz 57 is probably dead on! haha. The picture with his ears up might be a bit deceiving. He can't make them stick straight up like that on his own but any time he looks slightly up his ears fall back making them appear to be "standing up". He can however make them stand up half way. His ears are very expressive, we can always tell what he's feeling by how his ears are laying. I hadn't considered Basenji!
I definitely agree with the Staffordshire terrier, that was my #1 guess. I would love to do a dna test (Sally, 100% Napoleon!!); however, if he came back definitely part pittie then my home owners insurance would have a fit (yes, they do ask). With my Jake we told the company he was a husky/lab mix and the agent glared at me saying "you mean a lab mix, right"?? And it was so explained to me that having even a mix of any dog on the top ten vicious dog list would cause my insurance to go up. Which is ABSURD!! Tanner is the biggest baby ever......

Well, he's an All Star Special! Those look like GSD ears to me when they are up. I like the shepherd/lab mix with a little bit of pittie and something a little more petite thrown in.

I think he is the same breed as Emmi! The shape of the head and face in the video is quite like Emmi - the stills not so much. Emmi is said to be Staffy/Lab mix.

Facebook won't let me view your picture, it says I don't have permission haha. I usually get that notification when I'm not friends with someone. Staffy/lab mix was exactly what I thought...Tanner's size is small like some of the staffy's I've seen and his face too, but he has the yellow coat and longer legs like a yellow lab. Reminds me of the conversations I would have about Shelby ... she was a shiba/jack russell mix ... and I would get "shiba what?!?"...
Now w/Jasper... we're pretty certain she's an Australian Kelpie/min pin mix but no one has heard of a "kelpie"... LOL
And big "sigh" on those "danger" breeds ... seriously... I know lots of lovely "danger" dogs and some itty bitty non-danger dogs that are real ankle biters!!! FUN! I want to do the DNA test now too!

I changed it to public. I have to go back and re-learn how to imbed the photo in the post. I remember it being a two or three step process. Will go read the forum where the instructions are.
