Oh that is wonderful. Such a bright and happy smile Fortis has. Swimming is such great therapy and I'm so happy for you that Fortis can still enjoy it so much. Since Mackenzie's been diagnosed with lung mets, I take her swimming as much as i can knowing how much she loves it too. It's so true....there is life after lung mets! Way to go Fortis!!

My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
I hope he continues to enjoy life. I sent your shirt earlier today and it should be there no later than Thursday. Chloe and I wish you and Fortis many more swimming days. I wish Chloe enjoyed swimming (she is terrified of bodies of water...)!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog

Must have been his chiro and acupuncture sessions, or maybe Fortis just wants to prove to you that he is living with cancer, not dying from it!

Oh he definitely looks super happy!!
See, Fortis doesn't know he has lung mets... and he's just a happy dog and enjoying every minute of his life. Like many folks here say, dogs live in the now... not in the future like us humans.
I remember how happy my Jake was, going swimming... getting his favorite treats, or just having me and my hubby kissing and snuggling with him. He was happy right up until the last day of his life... he only started to go quickly downhill that evening.
I hope that Fortis has many more happy weeks, or months to spend with you!! Sending you all a big fat hug!!!
Angel Jake and Wolfie's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. You go man! After I finished the chemotherapy and that horrible taste was gone so that I could enjoy food again, Dad did not take me back in to examine for lung mets. He had a simple attitude that we would enjoy life to the maximum not matter how long that was to be. We were not going to change anything because we got a clean bill of health or because of some mets reappearing. Both Dad and I can appreciate your great smile and it shows that your Dad is making sure that you have the fun you deserve. Dad and I did so very much together both before the amputation and aftwerwards. The only thing that really changed was the I was introduced to ICE CREAM after my chemotherapy. So as you can see, every cloud does have a silver lining.
Keep on living for the now and the future will take care of itself. There will be plenty of time later to join all of us TriPawds as we await our Pawrents.

You're so right; there is life after mets. We just keep on doing what we do best, and hope that our humans follow our lead.
Just look at what I was doing, months after mets were found. Here I am at nearly 10,000 feet elevation!

Oh Fortis, tell your silly dad to post all the pictures he can of you in your swimming hole! We all love to see them so much! Makes me wish I had a swimming dog. My pups are big sissies, they don't like being in water like that.
