Okay, I'm a little late (one week to be exact) this month with Rumbles Ampuversary.
Last Monday was Rumbley's EIGHT MONTH ampuversary. He's the sweetest, most expressive, sensitive dog I've known. I truly love him with all my heart and will do everything possible to keep him happy and healthy as long as I can. I''m so glad that we made the decision to amputate. I am grateful that we had several excellent vets to guide us through the decision-making, surgery and recovery. And I am also extremely thankful for the terrific group of people who make up the tripawds community. Some days the news here is happy and some days the news here is sad. But every day, you're all here…giving your kind advice, encouragement and dog-craziness (monkey-butts, really?!).
As much as I have learned from Rumbles and "dog-power" during this experience, I have also learned a tremendous amount about the kindness of humans on this site. Thank you, everyone for being here…every day for eight months and one week.
Hoppy, hoppy ampuversary, Rumbles, you big ol' cutie pie!!! Hope your momma remembered to give you lotsa treats...
We're gonna go have some cookies to celebrate for you -- and don't feel bad, Rebecca, I forgot Rio's ampuversary nearly every time....

Happy hoppy 8 months (and one week!)! I hope he is jelly bean dancing to celebrate!
Love your post. I often say to the "newbies" that they won't find a more supportive group of folks out there, and I really believe that! So hooray for Rumbles and hooray for tripawd pups (and for monkeydogs!) and for Tripawds.com!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
You should post that picture of Rumbles waiting in the car for his daddy....it's my favorite!
I'm glad he got to have steak....he deserves it!
Wishing him many more happy days, months, years!
And just like Micki, I am terrible at posting ampuversary stuff so you are in good company!
Oh my gosh never beat yourself up about not posting, that means you're busy living your life with Rumbles!
Hoppy Ampuversary sweet boy. We are sad that you lost your leg but are so glad you and your folks are here making such a difference in this community. Thank YOU for being such an inspawration.
May there be many, many more of these celebrations!!!!

Way to go Rumbles! You are one awesome guy! Hey, who's your pick for the Super Bowl? I'm glad you got steak....steak rocks!
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

angl: Here it is...worriedly waiting for Henry to return to the car. I think he really believes that we won't return...I was sitting in the car with him the whole time and could not distract him from his stressed out, anxious anticipation.
Awww, sweet Rumbles... We just want to give him kisses... Lots of smooches to his sweet face!!!
