Great idea for an Allstate commercial !! hahhahaaa
Did you ever wonder what the Scandisk might have recorded? If only you could have recovered it (like a black box) - it might have given a whole new insight into the internal workings of the canine digestive system - or perhaps have captured in perpetuity the awesome force that is the mouth of Bernie bin Laden....
Wyatt Ray .... is that a "I'm a good boy halo" I see starting to form above you??

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

It's already a commercial:
It reminds me of the story of Bernie bin Laden and the seatbelt of my new truck, another adventure of his that's been documented elsewhere on these forums. And as for documenting the workings of his apparently cast-iron digestive system, I'm already far too familiar with the end result of it. The only good thing about it is that we have him trained to do his business at the side of our house, not on our back yard's main lawn. The grass in the side yard will never be the same…
Hey, that seat belt looks familiar!

I missed this story when you first posted it, since we joined a little while after it happened, but I have to say thank you. I needed this today. Ahhh, puppies. Our Nakita and Shasta once made it look like we'd been robbed. This makes their story pale in comparison.

Oh, Lord, that is classic! Zeus and Merlin (his littermate) had a carpet fetish. They would just SHREAD the carpet when left alone. I came home one day to find that not only had they demolished the carpet, they had pulled up and chewed on the tack strip - and spit out the tacks. Worried that they had swallowed some, we were left measuring the length of the missing strip and counting tacks in an equivalent sized strip to see if any were missing. I could have killed them that day.
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

I also missed it, having joined up at the same time as Micki and Angel. I knew Bernie ate the camera but didn't know details. I think his new name should be Bernie the Ass Canon, for a multitude of reasons.
Dakota hasn't a destructive bone in his body, but Evelyn (as is documented here someplace) ate 5 holes in our drywall. As I was buying the sheet metal and screwing it into my laundry room walls, I think my homicidal meter was off the scale as well. And our best dog, Belle, ate a tent that cost $500 in 1990 dollars, so she did one big walloping blowout for her damage. And she ended up being the best thing on any number of legs. So maybe there's hope for Bernie. Maybe he'll end up being a model citizen and the love of your life. Ok, I should stop laughing. Hyperbole is just so easy with Bernie! We can always wish, but then we won't have the stories of legend.
See ya next time, Ass Canon!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
