Misty has never really been shaved before, and after her amputation I noticed all kinds of little bald dots on the back of her neck.

Has anyone else noticed such a thing, and does anyone know what could have caused this? Could it have been that I was giving her Revolution (and before that Frontline, and before that Advantage) once a month when she used to go outside? Is it permament?

It appears you can't embed Google photos anywhere but yes the link worked. Boy I wish I knew what those spots were, but anything is possible with the topical flea meds. If the spots aren't irritating her then I would leave it be. Still, it just makes you wonder about the toxicity of those flea medications. Eeek!

Thanks Jerry! Yeah, I realize I probably cannot do anything about the spots now, but it would be nice to know what caused them so I can stop doing it. Certainly if it were caused by a particular flea medication or something I would stop using that medication. It would be nice to know if this was NOT because of flea medication as well - reassure me that it is safe to use.

Oh I know what you mean, all of a sudden when you're dealing with cancer, everything becomes suspect. I was not able to see the photo via the link. Are there scabby sores around the neck? If so then that is probably miliary dermatitis which is an allergic reaction to flea bites. If there is just one bald spot without scabbing or redness then that could be due to the topical flea medication.
