Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Alison,
Thank you for sharing all your precious Christmas photos of Shelby. It made me smile looking at Shelby through the years. She was such a doll dressed up in her Christmas best spreading joy wherever she went.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
GRRRRRR......BAH HUM BUG!!! "What?????? What do you mean Grrrrr and Bah humbug???"
I got all the way downnto 2011 and it just went to all purple again!!!!!!
But you bet your butt Buttercup....I'll keep trying!!!! Not gonna miss any of Shelby Paws!!!!!
That first photo with the "candy cane antlers".......this girl was born to wear "head bands"!!
And, so far, I've gottennthrough the ones I could see with no real tears......pretty much sittingnhere with a big grin across my face!!!! I think because you can FEEL the love to you from Shelby....and to Shelby from you.....and KNOWING that can never be taken away....it's just so beautiful!
Alrighty...I'll try again in a bit!!!!! Loving these!!! LOVING THEM.!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thank you all!!!! What I love (aside from the costumes) is you can really see how Shelby 'grew'... she wasn't a puppy when I got her but you can definitely see the progression of her aging and personality coming through... how in the early ones she looked a bit insecure to the end where she looks downright p!ssed as if to say "Mom, I am FAR too old for this - I don't believe anymore".
We always took great "selfies" together .... Jasper and I haven't gotten there yet (mainly because her dumbo ears don't always fit in the frame) but we will. My love for Jasper grows each day and my memories and love for Shelby are as strong today as they were last year at this time!

Shelby was MADE for the camera, I can't think of another dog I know who just loved to pose and play dress up like that. What sweet memories!
Too funny about Jasper's ears not fitting in the camera frame! I've always preferred pointy-eared dogs but it's true, you can rarely get all of them in the pic when you're taking an extreme close up!

It's funny ... I tried to snap a photo of us this a.m. and because she was tired from day care, her ears were less erect! But still didn't fit in the frame. I do love my dumbo eared dog!
Thanks Michelle! Such special memories!
I did add the two videos I have of Shelby and her Christmas beach walks. What a difference a year makes - in 2012, she had a ton of spring in her step and was bouncy. Last year, still a qaudpawd, I could finally see what others saw ... her favoring her hind leg. I hope she can forgive me for not taking when I had the chance but I have to believe, she was never truly in great pain till she flat out stopped using it early January and we amputated soon after.
