So you all should know by now that I keep track of all the anniversaries. So how about a happy one?
It was one year ago today that I saw the picture below online. For whatever reason, that little dog piqued my interest. A few days later, I went to visit him and a few days after that I brought him home. And now a year later, it's working out pretty well.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.

And that it hit me once again that Manni's one year dead soon so your post makes complete sense. wow. I am glad you have Baxter, though, as I'm sure are you and who wouldn't have fallen in love with that picture?!?

Osteo and amputation in Dec 2015. Second, inoperable, primary osteosarcoma found in June 2017.
The end of our adventures came Dec 10, 2017. 2 years to the day.
It is amazing how time plays with us. I love that picture and i love his ears! Happy gotcha day Baxter, you hit the jackpot buddy!!❤️❤️❤️

We remember well when your Dad first introduced us to who Rocky picked for you💖 And yeah, we fell in love with that "interesting " mug too! We knew there was a whole lot of personality just waiting to be unleashed! Didn't you jump on the sofa and settle in for a nap the first night you were in your furever home?
Good job Rocky! You knew what was best for your Dad, even if he doubted that "inner voice" (aka you whispering in his ear)
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

Hope everyone is having a happy Thanksgiving.
So today is the actual Gotcha day when I brought a very sick Baxter home from the shelter. I didn't realize just how sick until the next day. Thankfully, no emergency room visits tonight. He celebrated his Thanksgiving and his observed third birthday with some hamburger mixed in with his kibble, some ice cream and a bone. His belly should be full.
I'll try to upload some pics when I get a chance.

So much fun following Baxter and knowing he was the perfect pick for you...and you for him!! I hate to think what would have happened had someone else taken him home and found out he was sick. The likelihood of him being returned to the shelter and not getting proper care or, worse yet, not getting a home and have to spend another holiday in a cage. Vut Rocky took care of that!😎

So this is an old picture of Rocky in his favorite chair. It was a cheap little chair I picked up when I lived in an apartment, but Rocky made it his own at the house.
