Today is the day we have chosen to celebrate Ollie's birthday. He is officially two years old today. He had a half an apple/peanut butter doggie birthday cake. He is still not as polite as Gentleman Gus, but he doesn't manage to eat the entire cake in one bite, either. Gus will always be the cake eating champ.
So, especially for Sally, here is Ollie's birthday celebration.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Yes, I remember videos of Murph woofing down his cake and Gus being such a gentleman. Would. LOVE to see those videos again so we could comlare them to Ollie. I think Ollie falls into the category of being pretty darn polite. I love how he licked his plate so clean. And there was no slobber, no slime and no drool!
Sooo glad Ollie has his forever home with you two. Wuite a wi /win for everybody...including all of us!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Thanks to all of you. Ollie is such a joy to have around...most of the time. He still lets us know he is still a pup, as in when he started helping us un-decorate the tree as soon as it was up.

It was good. The recipe is from Angel Roxy's mom. One egg, one grated apple, two tablespoons of peanut butter and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Bake at 350. All of our dogs have just gobbled it down!

Oh Kathi and Garry...I just LOVE this video! Such a sacred treasure...well...of TWO SACRED TREASURES!! Soooo glad you were able to retrieve your videos....sooooo glad! I could watch videos of Murphy and Gus all day!
I love how Gus never stopped starring at Garry....and Murph looked away once when he saw his ampuversary sign wiggle a little bit. Very observant fella'.
And yeah, that cake, YUM YUM! Of course it does need a scoop of ice cream to top it off!

Thanks, Jerry. What I remembered off the top of my head was fairly close. Ollie is happy because it makes enough to split between two big dogs, but he is getting to have it over three days.
Sally, you will note that Garry did NOT set the cake down in front of Ollie and expect him to wait. LOL!
