It's great you're being so conscientious abut his activity! It's really up to the humans to monitor things to make sure a Tripawds doesn't over do it and hurt themselves. In general, what you want to do is:
- Remember 2 months isn't a long time, he needs strengthening games to build up muscle
- Walks should be shorter but more frequent; for example, a Tripawd in top top shape should go on 3, 10 minute walks a day instead of one big one. That gives his body time to recuperate.
- Focus on core-strengthening and rehab games over walking; it's a great way to build your bond too! Check out these Best of Tripawds Gear Blog posts for more tips.
The Tripawd Conditioning Course will be a pawsome way to learn how to get and keep him fit. It was just announced this week but it doesn't start until January as we're trying to get folks to commit to enrolling (need at least 6 students to have the course). Here is the info, hope you can do it!
Meanwhile do check out our Loving Life on Three Legs e-book, which focuses on Fitness and Conditioning, you'll find lots of tips there too.
