Glad to read your words again. I remember both Dakota and Trouble from 2008 when I first became a voyeur on this site when my Vizsla Bart became a Tripawd. I think Dakota is in my Tripawds book with Bart...maybe? I will have to look when I get home.
Although it stinks that the pain never goes away, I was comforted by your admission that it still hurts for you 6 years later. I have survived 3 /12 months without my true, 100%, soul mate, heart dog, best friend, side kick Bart. I miss looking at the couch and seeing his face propped on the back of it staring at me with true love. I miss him.
I miss seeing him be-bop down the path to the barn. I miss him.
I miss sitting with him on Saturday and Sunday mornings before everyone else wakes up when we would enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up on our weekly TV shows - Master Chef and Dr. Phil were our favorites. I miss him.
The other night as I was trying to fall asleep I was praying he would visit me in my dreams so I could feel him again and I could hug and kiss him again. I miss him.
There will never be another Bart...he was one in a million to so many for so many reasons. I miss him.
I can't quite put it into words, but a part of me is OK with the fact that the pain of his absence is so great because I shared such an amazing life with this amazing creature. I loved him with all my heart and now that he is no longer by my side (which he always was) I miss him with all my heart, too. I miss him. I just do.

Beautiful Bart, I remember him well. It truly is a blessing to have the relationship you had with him. It makes for tremendous pain when he is gone, but oh, so many beautiful memories to live in your heart and soul forever.

I clicked to watch Trouble's video for the first time in over a year, and Dakota's banner was up. I'd like to think it means they've met up with each other by now. 
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

I know you just did a blog for your sweet Dakota and the darn thing went down so fast I didn't get to respond! Imw gonna try and findnit ...it was beautifully worded...as is everything that comes frommyour heart when you write about Dakota!
This site wouldn't be what it is today without pups like Dakota, Zeus, Trouble, Bart, Pug Maggie, Agile Cow Dog Maggie and so manynother heros who transitioned a while back,shining their light ofnhope and courage.
You were there for me when I first posted, and poured out loving and supportive words when Happy Hannah transitioned and I couldn't even breathe...as was Karen and Lisa....okay....gotta stop naming names...it could go on forever!
Anywaw, just trying to say how important you and Dakota are to us all!! I've so enjoyed Dakota's blog...and catching up onnthat amazing journey you two shared! An j nbreakable bond for sure!

I have no doubt they have found each other and all the others and collectively they all watch over us and guide us. Bob swears Trouble brought Emmi to us - I'm not so sure. But I do know she guided us to volunteer for transport so we could help those who need to get to rescue, foster, or permanent homes. Over the last year Bob and I have both driven many miles, and spent countless weekends monitoring many cross country runs to get the lucky ones to safety. And she continues to draw me back here when someone needs to hear a few words from the heart.
