Not cancer is great news! Does it interfere with his daily activities at all? Did the vet have any particular recommendation? If not, I would be more in favor of the wait and monitor if it was my guy, especially at 13.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
I wonder if it's something like we had removed from Cassie's foot in January? She had a hemartoma, which is an abnormal growth of normal tissue, and not cancer.

Hey no cancer is GREAT!!!! Honestly, this is a really huge reason to step back, smile and breathe. I think waiting and managing it sounds like a reasonable thing to do.
Yay!

Lori, this sounds like really good news, or at least enough to set your mind at ease..... This disease boggles my mind, and can drive us all insane if we let it, the key is to not let it, but that is certainly easier said than done.
Hang in there, hug your fur kids, and just enjoy each day 😊🐾💜

Such a relief!!! It IS good news!!! Only those of us on this journey think some sort of glob of stinky hair and nail residue under the skin think this is the best think in the world!!
Yeah, I ditto the "just let it be" at his "mature" and very wise age.
Lots of love ro you Lori, and Daryl and Chandler!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Phew... BIG sighs of relief!!!!
BTW- Lori, I thought of you this weekend. Jasper and I have been out of town and we were walking and all of a sudden PACK of corgis. About 25 - 30!!! Jasper was so confused. Low-riders with big ears?!?! Must have been a meet up group!!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
