Whoo hoo on the tikki cat moussesmiley_clap that's better than the dry food. Brilliant to hear.  I hope Mignon likes it too.

I figured they were, but you never know. They can be polar opposites in looks and be litter mates. Awe, us too. We got our boys at six weeks old. True gifts from above.

Jolie is doing brilliantly 👏🏻🙌🏻 keep it up Jolie !

Aww you have been so good to them all their lives!

How is Jolie doing today? Drinking water is awesome. If he's eating the mousse I say that counts as food 😉 Good move to suggest that yummy treat, Holly! It's good stuff obviously.

Each update gets better and better!  Reme, every "little" improvement  during recovery is a HUGE improvement during recovery!

Celebrating  poopicon   is  something we love to do sround here!!  CONGRATULATIONS  for a good poopicon

It's Christmas morning here so Merry Christmas everyone. Jolie greeted me with copious purring this morning.

After a telephone consultation I resumed the injection just on the non surgery side.

Glad you checked with the Vet and it's okay to resume.   Hope  doing the other side does the trick. 

I'm pretty sure you u understood  our joy at celebrating his poop.  Yeah, we tripawd people are weir that way😉

Hey...I'm all FOR pooh celebrations! He had another one yesterday evening and greeted me with purring this morning. He really hates the powder I have to feed him for his kidneys. So much so that he vomited when I fed him it this morning so unfortunately he vomited all his morning feeding up. 

I am taking him in this afternoon for his first followup. This is the one week anniversary of his surgery.

HAPPY ONE WEEK AMPUVERSARY  JOLIE!!  

A full recovery is getting closer and closer now. Other than a hiccup here and there, Julie has done really really well

Hopefully the Vet will have  suggestions on preventing the vomiting with the powder.  Maybe it's a matter of giving it a certain number of hours before the food, or certain number of hours after the food, etc etc.  The vet may also consider another option instead of the powder. Let us know what the Vet comes up with.

Sadly, it was found that Jolie has accute anemia and I have had to take him to another city for an emergency blood transfusion....the nearest hospital with blood is one hour away...

I am sure you haven't had much time to check that link on Kidneys I sent. It has an overwhelming amount of information, and it's one to bookmark. It's gold when you need to know more and very detailed.

Here is the part on Anemia - http://www.feli.....naemia.htm. It is relatively common in CKD -and there are many reasons for it. I'm glad you had your recheck yesterday, and they caught it rather quickly. Hopefully, the vet explained all this to you.

Did you discuss the powder? Are you referring to a phosphorus binder?

I see you are on now. Does that mean you and Jolie are home and recovering?

His blood count was only 14. The transfusion will take most of the night.
