We're interested in fostering again (kitten season!) now that our newly adopted hind-leg tripawd is well adjusted and about to turn a year old. We've had Champion for about 3 months, and we're eager to get back into fostering. Any advice on this with a tripawd specifically? He's a hind-leg amputee, he's pretty young still. Thoughts?

Ok first off, you MUST share photos of this adorable kitty and Champion too! Pleeeeeease? A two Tripawd house would be sooo cool.

I am not a kitty expert, but I would likely treat a young Tripawd cat the same as a young Tripawd dog. Do your best to minimize the risk of getting hurt. Young Tripawds haven't developed the coordination that older ones have to get along on three, so taking things slowly is a good idea. Try to block off dangerous hiding places like under the bed, as well as the highest jumping spots. Provide as many stairs and ramps to low perches as you can. Keep his free-roaming to inside the house, not outdoors. And offer regular core-strengthening games to help him get strong. These are just a few ideas, I'm hoping our Trikitty experts will chime in soon.
